After we decided on which film we were going to shoot we wrote up a shooting schedule so we had a plan as to where and when we were going to shoot each part of the film, this is the schedule we came up with.

This helped us keep to what we were sipposed to be doing and make sure we kept up and did all the filming we were supposed to by the time we needed to get it done.

This is a list of things which we thought were generic features of horro films and would normally be added to horror films.

We then drew up a few story boards for ideas as to what we wanted to do for our film, we drew two up but only used one of them.

We decided on the second plan because looking through them both, it was more effective but also easier for us to fit it into to the time frame we had.

Preliminary task

The preliminary task was to make a continuity piece that conforms to the 180 degree rule, but also providing a action reaction sequence between two charactors.

To do this we found an empty classroom and wrote a short script between two people, we asked some of our friends that were on free lessons to come and help us. The piece of film ended up with charactor 1 walking into a room and talking to charactor 2, standing up and leaving again, within this short piece of film we tried to fit in as many different types of shot as possible.

Main Task

The main task for us to do was to make the opening two minutes to a film with a genre of our choice. As a group we decided on making the opening to a horror film.

To help us find out what people thought makes a good horror film begining we made some questionairres to ask people about what they thought makes a good beginning to a horror film, this gave us a good idea as to what we should include in our film. Here are the filled in questionairres.

From the results of the questionairre we found out what we needed to add to make it a good film opening.
